Samsung discontinues My Knox, switch to Secure Folder!

Samsung is discontinuing My Knox with a view to make users to use their newer Secure Folder App. If you are one of those Knox Fan which Samsung provides to store data securely, you need to switch toSecure Folder App till the end of service date. The End of Service hasn’t been announced yet, but would be announced soon.

About Samsung Knox

Initially, My Knox was basically started as a Security Solution to create a secure confidential space for your data related to work so that it doesn’t messes up with your other stuff. Most of the users including us have received an email from the company stating that My Knox would no longer be available on new Samsung Devices from this year itself.

My Knox RIP (2014-2017)

Samsung is asking users to switch to Samsung Secure Folder App, which you can download from Galaxy Apps. The app is compatible with all Samsung Devices running Android Nougat (7.0) or higher. It also allows you to backup the same data to your cloud , so that you can restore it whenever you want. Though you need to go it first from the app settings- Backup an Restore. You can also transfer your existing Knox Data to the Secure Folder with a few clicks.

Here’s how you can do it

  1. Open Settings in My Knox.
  2. Tap on Backup and Restore to backup your existing Data.
  3. Now, open Secure Folder App and head inside to the settings pane
  4. Select Restore and you can import your existing files.
