Manually setting the date of your 64 bit iOS device to 1 January 1970, or tricking your friends into doing it, will cause it to get permanently stuck while trying to boot back up if it’s switched off.
The bug within Apple’s date and time settings within iOS causes such a problem that users are reporting that the fail-safe restore techniques using iTunes are not able to repair the problem.
The Bug exists in iOS 8 and iOS 9. If you set your date to 1 January 1970 it won’t effect the device that much. But if you set the date to 1 Jan 1970 and switch off your iOS device you won’t be able to boot it again. It will get stuck at Apple logo.
Apple Has said that they are looking into the problem.
