Coolpad has launched its selfie-centeric smartphone Coolpad Mega in India. Priced at Rs 6,999, the smartphone will be available on Amazon.com starting August 24. Coolpad Mega will be available via flash sale, and the registrations for the phone are now open.
The smartphone sports an 8MP rear and front camera. While the rear camera comes with Sony sensor and auto-focus support, the front camera comes with f/2.2 aperture and 83 degree field of view to capture large groups.
It has a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display which has a pixel density of 294ppi, and the phone overall has a 73-percent screen-to-body ratio. As the name suggests, the handset features 2.5D curved glass across the front. Under the metal body, the Coolpad Mega 2.5D is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. There is 16GB of on-board storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). The smartphone is powered by a 2500mAh battery that’s rated to deliver up to 9 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time. The phone supports 4G LTE with support for carrier aggregation, and other standard connectivity options. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Cool UI 8.0 layer on the top.
